CREATED TO WORSHIP

“Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13: 15-16

Worship is about a whole lot more than just singing some songs. We enter in to God’s presence through Jesus, He is the door, the way and you have to come to the door before you can go through the door. You cannot worship Jesus without first meeting Him.

When you encounter the Way, the Truth and the Life, the one that took your punishment, the one that took your place, the one who knew no sin and became sin so that you might have life abundant, life eternal, you cannot help but worship.

You did not find God, He found you. You cannot discover Him, He reveals Himself to you and when He does you won’t need a music team to give you a worship experience. We should not be consumers of worship, but contributors. It is not about songs or about the band. It is supposed to be more of Him and less of me. God wants more than a song, He wants you!

You will have no problem with sacrifice when Jesus is revealed to you. As you begin to understand what your Heavenly Father sacrificed for you, His only Son Jesus, you will worship. We are born to worship. We are created to worship. You may think that you are a mechanic, a dentist, a housewife. You are a worshiper - it’s your number one vocation.

It is so true that a revelation needs to take place for people to worship in spirit and in truth. You can teach on worship, but you can’t make people worship, because it’s what flows out of the heart. People do what they want to do when it is there passion, when people do what they have to do out of obligation that is religion.

Is your worship a pleasing sacrifice to God?
