Since 2000 I have been attending City Impact Church and working in our wonderful early childhood Education Centres. Prior to that, I studied at the Dunedin College of Education to achieve my Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood. I love working for City Impact Church Early Childhood Centres and believe it’s a real privilege to have the opportunity to care and educate young children in a rich Christian environment and see them grow and develop into their learning and personalities. My desire is that our ECE Centres offer a safe environment where children and their families feel welcome and valued and that children experience a learning environment that is fun and exciting with lots of opportunities to create, explore and discover.
- Ai Lin Liew - Head Teacher
My name is Ai Lin Liew (pronounced like ’I-Lynn’). My husband Samuel Chong and I are originally from Malaysia and we recently moved up to Albany, Auckland after living in Wellington for the past seven years, where my daughter Caitlyn was born. I am a violinist and music educationist by profession. After completing my Masters Degree in Music Education from Middlesex University in London, I have lectured for the last seven years at University Putra Malaysia and mentoring teachers in the field of Music Education. My passion and interest in early childhood education has also led me to complete my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Massey University in 2010. As the Head Teacher of City Impact Childcare, my goal is to see that the children come to experience God and His ways through the sharing of our life with them, believing that God will use the talents that He has given us to impact the children’s’ lives for His Glory.
It is such a blessing to be part of this beautiful team of educators who make learning a joy for the children. I am married to Gemmel and I have two lovely daughters. I have been a teacher in the Philippines for thirteen fruitful years. My passion for teaching young minds inspired me to work in an Early Childhood Centre. I am currently a provisional registered teacher in New Zealand and I will be doing a graduate diploma in Early Childhood Education. It is indeed a pleasure to know that teaching these children is my obedience to God’s call and purpose for my life.
I was born in Wales and immigrated with my family when I was only four years old and so consider myself to be a true kiwi. I have raised three sons and have four grandchildren whom I love dearly and enjoy spending as much time with them as I possibly can. It was while my sons were growing up and attending play-centre that I became interested in becoming an early childhood teacher and so I completed my play-centre training up to a supervisor level. I am a fully qualified and registered teacher and have an up to date first-aid certificate and have been teaching for more than eleven years. My husband and I have been attending Windsor Park Baptist Church for the past sixteen years, working in the children’s church and leading a cell group together. I love the gift the God has given me of teaching children and I am looking forward to spending time with your children here at City Impact Church.
I have been working at City Impact Church Childcare Centre for just over two years now. During this time, I have loved seeing the growth and development of all your precious children. It is a joy to see the unlimited potential in each of them. I am married to Cliff and we have four very hungry boys, two very soppy cats and lots of very wonderful friends. We live in Mairangi Bay and are part of City Impact Church.
I have been working at City Impact Church Childcare since September 2010. My family and I came from South Africa to live in New Zealand. I am married to Donavan and have a daughter named Leah who attends City Impact Church School. I am teacher of the under two’s. I am passionate about imparting Biblical truth and knowledge into the children’s lives. It is a privilege to be a part of the team at City Impact Church Childcare.
Since 2007 I have been coming to City Impact Church. I grew up in a Christian home and was home-schooled along with my older sister and younger brother. I have always had a passion for teaching young children. I love to see young children learn, explore and grow alongside others, and I am very grateful to be able to be a part of City Impact Church Kindergarten and Childcare.

My family and I have been coming to City Impact Church since 2004 and I started working in the ECE Centres in July 2010. I immigrated to New Zealand with my husband and 2 daughters in 2002 with an ECE Diploma from South Africa. As a family we love serving in this house and I feel very privileged to work at the centres and impart God’s love to the children and their families.
